  • Is there an iOS version of AutoResponder?
    No, AutoResponder is only available on Android. iOS currently doesn't support automatic messenger replies.
  • What Android devices are supported?
    All AutoResponders work on devices with Android 7 and up. AutoResponder for WhatsApp even supports Android 5 and 6. Android Go devices with Android 8.1, 9 or 10 are NOT supported. These are typically devices with less than 1 GB of RAM and not able to grant notification access. When trying they will show something like "This feature is not available on this device.".
  • Is there a desktop version of AutoResponder?
    No, AutoResponder only works on a computer with the help of an Android emulator. You can look for one that fits your needs on the web. If you'd like to create rules on a computer, you can connect AutoResponder to Dialogflow.com or edit the import/export .csv file of AutoResponder using Excel.
  • How to backup and restore AutoResponder on another device?
    Premium is always connected to your Google account. Just install AutoResponder with the same Google account from Google Play on another device and Premium will automatically be restored. Rules can be transferred using the "import/export" option at the top right corner of the app. The exported backup .csv file can be found at /AutoResponder/Backup/. Just copy it to your new device and import it.
  • Does my device always have to be online for AutoResponder to work?
    Yes, AutoResponder can only send and receive messages when your device is connected to the internet. This is a technical limitation. However, if you are offline, this is not a problem, as AutoResponder will answer all pending messages the next time you connect.
  • How to remove the permanent notification?
    Developers need to add a permanent status bar notification to apps for some background features. You can easily disable the notification on most Android versions by long tapping it. On Android 13+ you can swipe the notification away.
  • Can I use AutoResponder for free?
    Yes, you can even use most of the premium features for free by clicking the "Use for free" button within a rule. There is no time limit. Just collect free premium replies by watching ads. If you run out of free premium replies, messages will continue to be sent, but a link to AutoResponder will be added at the end of your replies.
  • What advantages do I get with Premium?

    AutoResponder Premium is around 6.99 USD per month or 39.99 USD per year. The exact price depends on your country. You can find it within AutoResponder before the checkout.
  • Where can I purchase Premium?
    You can purchase Premium only within the AutoResponder apps itself with the help of Google Play. Just follow the Premium buttons in AutoResponder.
  • Can I restore Premium on multiple devices?
    Yes, premium is always connected to your Google account. Just install AutoResponder with the same Google account from Google Play on another device and Premium will automatically be restored.
  • Can I change my phone number?
    Yes, AutoResponder does not depend on your phone number at all. Premium is only connected to your Google account.
  • Do I need to pay for each AutoResponder separately?
    Yes, all AutoResponders are independent of each other and can have their own rules and settings.
  • How can I cancel my subscription?
    You can cancel your subscriptions at any time within the Google Play app on your phone.
  • What features does AutoResponder offer?

  • Can I send photos, videos or documents?
    Yes, this is possible with the help of Tasker. Check here for more information.
  • How to remove the AutoResponder signature at the end of a reply?
    Saving a rule after clicking the "Try for free" button irrevocably changes it to a free premium rule and unlocks most premium features. Every reply sent by such a rule will deduct one free premium reply from your reply counter. If you reach 0, replies will still be sent, but the AutoResponder.ai url will be added to the end of your message. Create a new rule, collect more free premium replies by watching ads or get premium to remove the link.
  • Can I select specific messenger accounts if I have multiple?
    Yes, you can select and disable specific versions in the general settings of AutoResponder if each account is installed in a separate messenger app or with the dual messenger feature of your device.
  • Is it possible to connect a Facebook page?
    Yes, just get AutoResponder for FB Messenger and use it in combination with the Facebook Business Suite app. Just download both from Google Play and you are ready to go!
  • My AutoResponder is not working. What can I do?
    Please check the "doesn't work" button at the top right corner of the app and try to restart your device. On some devices (like Xiaomi or Huawei) it's important to add AutoResponder to the ignored list of the device's battery saver in case it stops working occasionally. And for Xiaomi it may also be important to enable "Autostart" there. Step 2 of the "doesn't work" button may help you with that. Try to restart your device afterwards or do step 1 of the "doesn't work" button again. The second paragraph is particularly important if, despite a correct rule, the test feature in AutoResponder also does not work.   • Why is AutoResponder asking me to pay for Premium again?
    This might happen if you have multiple Google accounts on your device. Please try to reinstall the app with the right one or remove the other Google accounts temporarily. A simple device restart may also help. Also check if the Google account you have purchased AutoResponder with, is still connected through Google Play. Or maybe your subscription has simply expired or been cancelled. This can be done manually or happens when payment problems arise.
  • AutoResponder repeats and sends duplicate replies. What to do?
    In case you just want to pause a rule after a reply was sent: Please use the Pause rule for… option at the bottom of your rule. In case AutoResponder sends duplicated replies to one received message: Duplicated replies can be fixed by doing step 1 of the "doesn't work" button at the top right corner of the app. Just disable and enable notification access again. If that doesn't help, please try to use the “prevent repeating rules” option in the General settings of AutoResponder and set it to at least 2 seconds.
  • Why is the ChatGPT response showing me an error?
    Please check all troubleshooting steps shown at this page. Make sure your API key is valid. Make sure you have enough free funds in your OpenAI account or that a credit card is connected here (You'll only be billed at the end of each calendar month for usage during that month - the default model has a fair price). Make sure you didn't hit your maximum monthly spend (hard limit), otherwise increase it. Your OpenAI account needs to be a member of an organization to use the API. All parameters need to be correct as described in the GPT documentation (e.g. the model name, temperature setting etc.). Make sure the prompt+response combined doesn't exceed the supported 4096 token limit. Check your internet connection. When using a different model, please check if you have already access to that model. Some require you to sign up for a waitlist on OpenAI. Especially important is connecting a credit card here if you ran out of free credits.
